COMPARISON OF DRIVING LESSON PRICES

Beware of cheap offers, there’s no such thing as a free lunch! The amount you pay your driving instructor forms his wage. He’s self-employed and doesn’t get any more income from the driving school he works for. The cost of owning a car, including insurance and fuel is at an all time high and driving instructors are not immune to this.

If you can get 10 lessons for under £100 then there may well be a catch, you may be committed to doing a certain number of driving lessons to qualify or some of those driving lessons may be held back, the standard hourly lesson prices may be quite high once the offer has expired and the driving instructor may have to keep you learning to drive for that little bit longer so that he or she can earn some money.

So make sure you know the full story, just look at the totals below as a comparison.

*Typical starter offer 10 lessons for £99.00*

(Please note! Lessons are usually kept back, two hours for your test/two hour’s motorway lessons, so you only get 6 hours at the start, then have to pay the normal rate!)

**Most large schools will not let you take your test until you have completed 45 hours min**

*** Paragon Driving School is currently averaging a total of 30 hours from start to finish***

Even if you manage to achieve the required driving standard in the same number of hours, its very unlikely the big companies will allow you to take the test, but just to be fair, as a comparison, this will still cost you the following:

10 hours x £99.00, which is usually only 8 hours, plus 22 hours x £30.00 = 30 hours total + £30.00 (2 x mock tests) = £789.00

Still £129.00 dearer than Paragon Driving School!

So as you can see from the above examples Paragon Driving School will save you between £129.00 and £639.00 for the duration of your lessons, which will go a long way towards the cost of your first car and insurance!
